Stripping is the vernacular term the printing industry uses for the
assembling of pages to produce a folded brochure, book or magazine
that follows the page order, orientation and integrity of the intended
layout.
Example of the Film Process
The Old Process
This process was performed for years in offset
printing using film pieces, special tapes and masks,
tons of manual measuring and a whole lot of time.
Example of the New Process
The New Process
Stripping is now done on the computer as well.
With our Macintosh G5's and industry standard
software like Creo Preps, the operator calls up a
specially designed template related to the print job
and can assemble an entire book in minutes.
